2007 This home occupies a stunning 3.72 acre hillcrest site overlooking the Rose Bowl on one side, and the Pacific Ocean on the other. The roof of the existing Post & Beam "wannabe" building was left intact and in place while virtually all of the space underneath was rearranged. A new structural vocabulary of "L" shaped concrete block piers, laminated wood beams, and round concrete columns was developed to carry out the plan additions..

At the master suite, low header beams were removed to reveal the full impact of dramatic views of the San Gabriel Mountains front range to the San Jacinto Mountains beyond Palm Springs. Floor to ceiling glass panes in a "disappearing" corner, and sliding doors that open the room to a cantilevered deck were added. Folding walls of glass open the public spaces to decks and terraces for entertaining.
